Echoes of Honor

In this entry in the Honor Harrington series the story takes on epic proportions as Weber continues to develop his story of interstellar war despite the fact that his heroine is largely absent. The book seems like a good setup for the books to come: at the end of the book the good guys are in a dire position.
“Echoes of Honor” doesn’t fulfill the promise of the previous book. Given Weber’s talents as a writer of military fiction and the vividness of the earlier books, it’s surprising that the action in the several battle scenes is unclear. Also, Weber has an annoying tendency to break the tension and rhythm of his story by dropping into exposition at critical plot points.
