In at the Death

Harry Turtledove

It’s over at last. Turtledove’s interminable alternate history series about a Nazi-like Confederacy plods to an unsurprising, well-telegraphed end. The uninteresting characters, the repetitious dialog, the artless exposition and the predictable plot are all too familiar. Some books leave the Reader asking “why?”, this one has me asking “why did I bother?”.
